MjFour is a Pakistani company building business systems for retailers, distributors, employers and schools. This page is about why the software behaves the way it does, every choice below is one you can check in the product.
What we build on
The line will drop, so billing cannot depend on it.
Most business software sold here was designed where the internet is assumed. The point of sale bills entirely offline and syncs in order when the connection returns, because a counter that stops selling is a counter losing money, and because the alternative, writing sales on paper to type in later, is where the stock count and the day’s takings start to disagree.
Statute changes, so rules must be dated.
FBR slabs move, EOBI ceilings move, provincial rates differ by where an establishment is registered. Every statutory item is a dated rule rather than a number in the code, so a historic month keeps the rates it ran on and nobody has to reopen a closed payroll to answer a question about it.
Somebody will ask who did this.
A discount above a cashier’s ceiling, a salary adjustment, a corrected mark, a fee concession, each is attributable to a named user by default, not because an audit demanded it but because the question always comes eventually, and "the system did it" is not an answer.
Urdu is not a translation layer.
Urdu and English run through the interface and the printed documents, payslips, fee vouchers, result cards. A parent reading a fee voucher and a cashier reading a receipt are not edge cases to be handled after launch.
A customer who cannot leave is not a reference.
Pricing is in rupees with no dollar exposure and no exit fee, and you can export your data in full, in open formats, at any time. If MjFour is the wrong fit we would rather say so during the demo than discover it together six months in.
