The problem
Marks travel by spreadsheet. Every teacher keeps a slightly different one, the grading scheme is applied by hand, and a late correction means reprinting a card without anyone recording why.

What you need before an examination
Your subject list per class with weightings, the grading scheme your board uses, your teaching assignments so each teacher can only enter marks for their own classes, and your result card layout. The layout is worth attending to early, because it is one of the few school documents a family keeps and compares year to year.
Where the time actually goes
Not in mark entry. Teachers enter marks for their own classes and that part is quick. The time goes into agreeing the weightings, which is often the first time a school writes down precisely how a final grade is composed from term tests, practicals and a final paper. Schools frequently discover that two departments have been doing it differently.
Why restricting entry by teaching assignment matters
It is not about distrust. It is that an open mark sheet has no answer to the question "who changed this". Once entry is bound to the teaching assignment, a mark has an owner, and a correction after publication is recorded against the person who made it.
That is what lets you reissue a result card and explain it. A school that can explain a corrected grade to a parent is in a very different position from one that can only reprint it.
Handling more than one scheme
Schemes are applied per examination, so a school following a provincial board and also running internal assessments does not have to force both onto one scale. Promotions preserve the previous year rather than overwriting it, which is what makes a comparison across years possible at all.
What it costs
Examinations are part of the school management subscription at PKR 1,000 a month for up to 200 students. There is no per-examination or per-result-card charge.
