About

We build for the conditions here, and say so plainly.

MjFour is a Pakistani company building business systems for retailers, distributors, employers and schools. This page is about why the software behaves the way it does, every choice below is one you can check in the product.

What we build on

The line will drop, so billing cannot depend on it.

Most business software sold here was designed where the internet is assumed. The point of sale bills entirely offline and syncs in order when the connection returns, because a counter that stops selling is a counter losing money, and because the alternative, writing sales on paper to type in later, is where the stock count and the day’s takings start to disagree.

Statute changes, so rules must be dated.

FBR slabs move, EOBI ceilings move, provincial rates differ by where an establishment is registered. Every statutory item is a dated rule rather than a number in the code, so a historic month keeps the rates it ran on and nobody has to reopen a closed payroll to answer a question about it.

Somebody will ask who did this.

A discount above a cashier’s ceiling, a salary adjustment, a corrected mark, a fee concession, each is attributable to a named user by default, not because an audit demanded it but because the question always comes eventually, and "the system did it" is not an answer.

Urdu is not a translation layer.

Urdu and English run through the interface and the printed documents, payslips, fee vouchers, result cards. A parent reading a fee voucher and a cashier reading a receipt are not edge cases to be handled after launch.

A customer who cannot leave is not a reference.

Pricing is in rupees with no dollar exposure and no exit fee, and you can export your data in full, in open formats, at any time. If MjFour is the wrong fit we would rather say so during the demo than discover it together six months in.

How to reach us.

Monday to Saturday, 9am–6pm PKT, by phone, WhatsApp and email. A real person, in the same time zone as your business day.

In our own words

How we work.

What we are, stated plainly

A Pakistani software company building three business systems: a point of sale, a payroll and HR system, and a school management system. We sell to retailers, distributors, pharmacies, employers and schools, priced in rupees, supported from the same time zone as your working day.

That is the whole description. There is no founding myth on this page, no photograph of a team pointing at a whiteboard, and no customer count, because we would rather publish nothing than publish a number you cannot check.

How we decide what to build

By what breaks. Every choice on this site started as a specific complaint from a specific kind of business, and the ones that changed the product are the ones worth naming.

Expired stock reaching a counter was reported to us as a warning that cashiers ignored. The obvious response is a better warning. The correct response was to block the sale, because a prompt read under pressure is a prompt dismissed. Godown transfers that "went missing" turned out to be goods in transit with no name for that state, so both ends reported a shortfall and settled it by telephone. Defaulter lists being ignored was a staleness problem rather than an accuracy one.

None of those were feature requests. They were descriptions of a bad afternoon, and they are better input than a requirements document.

What we will tell you that costs us the sale

That a one-person business billing a handful of invoices a month should keep its spreadsheet. That a very small single-campus school will not get much from software and will lose real time during the transition. That if you operate across several countries or need a deep integration ecosystem, an international platform is the right answer. That manufacturing with a bill of materials is a poor fit and restaurants are an in-between case we do not document.

We say those things on a twenty minute call rather than in month six, because a customer who should not have bought is worse for us than an enquiry we lost.

What you can hold us to

Priced in Pakistani rupees, published rather than quoted. No setup fee and no exit fee. Statutory updates as part of the product, so an FBR slab change is never a quotation. Urdu and English in the interface and on printed documents. A full export of your own data, in open formats, whenever you ask.

A customer who cannot leave is not a reference. That is the reason the export exists, and the reason it is mentioned here rather than only in a contract.

Twenty minutes, your own data, no slides.

Bring a month of your own sales, a payslip you argue about, or last term’s fee sheet. We will show you what it looks like in MjFour.
